It’s been proven. Gingers have been around since the Cretaceous period. What little else we know of these primitive creatures can be traced throughout the evolutionary process, leaving us with a distinct specimen under the genus: Alexanthe Marshus. Do not be mistaken; the Marshus, while similar in appearance to the rest of the Daywalker phylum, is most easily identifiable by his dissimilar dialect, and exceptionally loud walking.

The unique species is said to inhabit the chilly, damp northeastern region of the United States, and can be lured with brownies.

hello everyone! eric, mike and i have returned from our fabulous 8 day road trip. i had intended to blog frequently because i knew everyone would be eagerly awaiting real-time updates, but apparently the west side of our country has horrible 3G coverage.

f

i think the filming went really well. we spent a whole day driving around in the rockies, which are really amazing to see in the summertime. the desert is somewhere i have not spent much time in, but i did very much enjoy the scenery and dry heat. the salt flats were definitely the highlight of the trip. that is an experience that is very hard to describe… it is both silent and peaceful, but also massive and isolating. it looks like snow and tastes like salt.

f

it was pretty great to see during the day, but i think our trip to the salt flats at night was my very favorite part. lying on the sheet we stole from our hotel, looking up at the full moon and the stars with a couple of my best friends was pretty special. how unlike me to blog (or even talk) about something resembling emotion. eww-a. but taking a walk, alone, in (literally) the middle of nowhere under the moonlight was truly an experience i encourage anyone who has a chance to do.

f

i won $51 playing blackjack in a casino right on the nevada/utah border. i was drunk. and awesome. i used the money to pay for another night at the hotel because there was no way we were going to get out of bed by 11, the checkout time.

i made the guys listen to beyonce some mornings to get them pumped for driving.  i think it worked.

see eric’s blog for more deetz. (if you haven’t noticed, we’re a super nerdy blogging couple) if you want to see more pictures click here. i’ll post some awesome movies later this week.

the road trip is amazing! i will have more details when i have access to wireless internet, but for now, i will blog my frustration (using the wordpress app hah) about how early everything closes in small towns. see picture below

I’m going to miss this…

yesterday eric, mike and me left for the art project/road trip to the salt flats in utah.

we have been on two highways – 88 (illinois to iowa) and 80 the rest of the way.

yesterday we stopped at the iowa 80- the largest truck stop in the world. eric and mike ate a taco. we drove to iowa city where we ate dinner/hung out with my brother for a bit. that was really great.

we made it to lincoln, nebraska around 11 and checked in to the luxury inn- free wifi and breakfast $40/night! we stayed up until 2:30 filming, laughing, icing and watching “i love you man”.

today we stopped at a gas station/dairy queen in a small town. there were several adds about where to get help if you know someone addicted to meth. most of the employees seemed a bit zombie-like. the guy in charge was noticeably mean to a young female employee, but super nice to these little annoying kids who had a hot mom.

we made it to cheyenne, wyoming tonight. ate dinner and drank $1 pints (all day, everyday!) we got a room at the ranger motel. cheyenne stops selling and serving alcohol at 10pm. the town is dead. the stoplights all turn into yellow blinking lights. there are no people to be seen. so we walked in the middle of the road and hung out on the train tracks.

more to come.
